Grit Group Fitness is a small fitness studio specializing in strength, cardio, and recovery classes in Memphis, Tennessee. No treadmills, no squat racks, no intimidation. Not a chain or a franchise. One of one. We’re group fitness for people who love group fitness.
We offer fun, effective workouts and build community among members and instructors. We aim to inspire members to make movement part of their healthy lifestyle, no matter where they are in their fitness journey.
Our goals:
Train for everyday life, not for a season or a number on the scale
Focus on how you feel, increase energy, and improve your mood

About our Owner
Grit Group Fitness owner and instructor Melissa Bamford fell in love with LES MILLS classes in 2010 while completing a PhD in Sociology. Group fitness and sociology teach us that we can accomplish more together than on our own!
It has been her dream to build a fitness community in Memphis like the one where she started as a member - focused solely on offering fun and transformative group fitness classes. She decided to follow that dream and create Grit Group Fitness so that others can find their passion for movement and community, too.
